How to Find Two Tier Affiliate Programs

The term 'two-tier' could be a new term to beginners, but to those already involved in the 2-tier money-making experience, it could mean a valuable stream of income. Two-tier earnings happen when affiliates are allowed to sign-up additional affiliates below them. The sub-affiliates (second tier affiliates) earn a commission, while the affiliate above receives a commission too.

First tier commissions are just like in the usual affiliate programs. The sole difference is that it has an additional tier/s or sub-affiliates, so marketers also gain a commission from generated sales that additional tier members refer to the program. Theoretically, affiliate programs can have a multi-tier program with infinite numbers of tiers, however, there are practical limitations. As tiers increase, the affiliate program draws more webmasters whose interests are in profiting from others' work and efforts.

Two-Tier affiliate programs are also recognized as Multi-Level Marketing. In singing up for an affiliate program, you are identified as the first tier, and the person that you have recruited or encouraged to sign up is the second tier. If there are additional tiers, then the system can now be regarded as multi-level marketing (MLM). Today, however, MLM isn’t as effective and successful as it was several years ago. This is because, at present, affiliates can freely select from thousands of affiliate programs and they can quickly switch from one program to another.

Things can work out really wrong for you if you’re thinking you can depend mainly on your second tier to do all your work for you. If you want to use two-tier affiliate programs to your advantage and generate more income by encouraging sub-affiliates to sign-up below you, make sure that you choose your affiliate merchants very carefully. Select merchants who generate stable streams of high quality products, give high or just commissions, offer real time tracking, furnish you with a proven and tested advertising arsenal and who treat their affiliates very well. You can also sign-up for the merchant who gives high visitors-to-sales conversion rate.

It is also advisable to be involved with a web merchant that has a user-friendly, easily accessible website, so that you can monitor statistics including visits and sales. Finally, if possible, select a merchant that offers powerful marketing tools which you can use in promoting their products.

Since there are almost unlimited affiliate programs out there on the Internet today, do make sure that you search out programs that are a good fit for you. There's no reason to involve yourself with and promote a program and products just because the affiliate program and products are staring you in the face. If the program doesn't have what you think you require as far as commission amounts, availability of promotional materials, etc., then do keep searching until you find a program that meets your needs.
